At Distracting Pages we try our best to review a large variety of book genres so that our site appeals to a large number of you. This review is much more mature than any other review I’ve posted and I strongly advise that only mature audiences (15yrs+) read it as it is a bit confronting and risqué.
That being said on to the blurb:
“Ava is ripped from her life by a sadistic priest, who leads a very sinister and secret life. She is forced to live in a room with his son, trapped in a house of hell. Day by day her innocence is torn apart, but despite witnessing horrific events, she finds herself caring for the boy with dark secrets of his own.”
I had come across ‘His To Keep’ by L.F Goodfellow while I was particularly looking for something along the lines of horror. I absolutely love horror, especially when it’s more to do with evil and the supernatural other than blood and gore. I largely expected this book to be more sexual rather than true horror.
I absolutely loved reading this book; it kept me on my feet from the very beginning, never failing to take me surprise. You always go into a book expecting a certain kind of plot but this book exceeded my expectations.
It’s so intense, riveting and engaging. Like I said before it isn’t for the younger audiences and even readers that have just found their liking for horror. This book is a different kind of horror fiction. It’s something else, and you’ll love it.
For those of you that might be intimated to give it a try, trust I was in your position too and giving this book a go was worth it.
Happy Reading!
