4.75 out of 5 Now the only reason this isn't a five is because book 1 was slightly better. I found this sequel to 'Disruption' absolutely fantastic and lived up and exceeded every single expectation and hope I harboured when I cracked the first page. I found that this book focussed a lot more strongly on the relationships and character personalities around Maggie and the development on the good vs. evil plotline that was established in book 1. It picks up right where 'Disruption' left off; Maggie in a neg holding cell and goes from there. Her relationship is of course strained with Quentin when she finally gets to talk to him but it grows and moulds with everything they experience and the undeniable attraction they feel for each other. I really loved the focus on the already established ideals like the M-Bands and the politics behind M-Corp; expanding on the idea and giving it so much more depth and unique freshness about it. |
I found that this novel exquisitely expanded on the dynamic personalities of a lot of the characters and their relationships with one another; especially Gus, Sam and Maggie's mother. I found myself really connecting with an extremely vast array of characters across the board in this book because their situations and stories were so amazingly intertwined.
I found that book 1, explored the initial plotline and ideals behind the entire 'M-Corp World' and this book expanded on that and added more depth and pizazz to the entire dynamic.
I found the vast array of vocabulary, descriptive language and foreshadowing to be amazingly refreshing. It combined adult literature with whitty banter and romantic situations, encompassing all the qualities of a truly talented writer.
I completely recommend this sequel to anyone who has read 'Disruption', and if you haven't; YOU SHOULD !!! It is one of the mose refreshing, unique and exquisite YA novel I have ever read, and it will DEFINITELY be going onto my re-read shelf this afternoon.
Well done Miss Shirvington,
Amazing work !!!
