5 out of 5 This was one of the best Wattpad books I've ever read; for those of you who frequent Watttpad, you'll know it can be difficult to find a book that stands out from the rest. This came close to 'The Mischevious Mrs. Maxfield' which has already been reviewed on here as well. I loved the completely different dynamic this story brought to the whole 'romance era'. It also breaches some really topical issues of our time like mental illness and eating disorders. It follows the story of Emily Winston after returning from a year long rehab program in London (I won't tell you what for though :P). She moves back in with her twin brother Emmett .... and his best friend Parker Adams. They are both the captains of the schools soccer team and ultimate players; bringing home new girls every night. Emily can't stand Parker, and when the apartment becomes too small for three; secrets and situations are brought to light that were never even thought of. |
This IS NOT a typical; boy meets girl, girl doesn't like his playboy issues, boy changes for girls, they live happily ever after. NO NO NO this is so much better, this throws in a bit of cheating, ex-boyfriends, inattentive parents, mentally ill siblings and a few too many medication subscriptions and everything goes haywire.
This is a very witty yet serious and literal book that absolutely took my breath away, I am so shocked that it has not been published and love that I got to read it before it does (WISH THE AUTHOR ALL THE BEST). The word building and internal dialogue is absolutely flawless and refreshingly easy to read despite the seriousness within the story.
I loved the various characters and how well they all grew and changed both individually and in relationships. All the characters experienced some major shift of sorts that added to the story. I was constantly on the edge of my seat thinking 'DID I REALLY JUST READ THAT' !!!
I loved the various characters and how widely they varied; I loved the Lee/Parker dynamic as it brought out a different side to every main character. This is in no way an extremely poetic book, the language is rich and basic, making for a fun and easy read that you don't have to constantly re-read to understand, and amazing book I will definitely re-read.
I really have no words to explain the sheer epicness of this book, I read it through the night in 4 hours flat and do not regret it one bit. I was impressed by the difference between the characters; often in Wattpad lit, the side characters seem to be carbon copies of each other (some published as well) and it just makes it boring. This book had the biggest array of characters that I fell in love with each and every one of them.
I loved this book*, for free Wattpad Lit, I was EXTREMELY impressed
Highly recommended
